Closet full of clothes. One thousand pairs of shoes. The same dilemma everyday: there's nothing to wear. Do you have days like these? I have them quite often. (The cranky weather in Europe doesn't help much.)

What to do when experiencing such days? My solution: a dress and CRAZY shoes. No fuss ... and it works every time!

Speaking from experience, an attempt to pull off an extraordinary outfit turns out NOT RIGHT 99% of the time. With a dress and eye-catching shoes, you're always on the safe side. These Elevator Fs might seem business up front, but they sure are party in the back!! :D Love the curved block heel and the pony fur! I have never been the classic chic type of gal, so I am definitely loving this fun twist to the little black pump!

Mixing masculine silhouettes with feminine details makes for a perfect summer outfit. This oversized, vintage, polka dot shirt with tall coral wedges by Michael Antonio and a woven floppy hat is an ideal ensemble to stroll up-and-down an afternoon farmers market or find a dirt path to snap some photos. I rolled up the sleeves on the shirt and slipped a simple cotton dress underneath give the look a relaxed summer feel. I'm still in love with orange-red lip shades, so I couldn't resist matching my coral wedges with my favorite lipstick of the summer–Vegas Volt from MAC.

I almost forgot to tell you all about my favorite part of these shoes: the back! I forget to snap a photo, but you can see them here. They have a raw seam all the up the back that makes these wedges to-die-for gorgeous!

The Best Laid Plans.

We recently hiked up to the Bunny Hutch in Lincolnwood—northwest of Chicago—for a photoshoot with our models Alex, Mandy and Zoe. After weeks of planning, organizing, haggling and wardrobing, we arrived at 8 a.m. to find ... rain. And wind. And fifty-degree weather. In June.

Naturally we made the most of it with some creative lighting, brave models, bagels, coffee and a lot of plastic tarp. By the time the rain eventually let up, we were having too much fun to care. Look for the finished images in our new lookbook feature soon! Until then: outtakes!

Alex wore Easy Breezy: our Collective Conceptions coral tank—an all-over dotted pattern and semi-sheer white panel back—Pink Martini’s SK5 full, knee-length skirt with contrasting vertical and diagonal stripes and our Shabby Keds in navy coupled with a clear stone necklace wrapped with gold wire. We added the Leather Bracelet with Gold Chain in Silver and Chain Wrap Bracelet with Crystal Beads in White/Clear to accent her look. She also wore Nautically Bold: Mink Pink’s navy and white striped dress, Jeffrey Campbell’s Moochie in Beige, and Jenny Bird’s Chain and Leather Brass Collar.

She also wore Neon Neon: Ambiance Appeal’s black harem pant, 291’s Venice tank in neon orange, Sugar Lips’s seamless bandeau in turquoise underneath and Jeffrey Campbell’s Gidget, with layers of thin black corded bracelets, such as the Double Cord Skull Bracelet.

Zoe wore Boho Edge: Blaque Label’s leather shorts, Evil Twin’s Tank Tee with longhorn graphic, Sam Edelman’s Dazey, with our Large Quartz Stone Pendant Necklace and Magazine’s Paisley Turquoise Silk Scarf tied combination The Moroccan Princess/Hermès way. (See our Tricks of the Turban Trade post for turban tying tips.) She also wore It Girl: Line and Dot’s denim sleeveless shirt dress, Jeffrey Campbell’s Lita in Mustard, and our silver and pearl Asymmetrical Statement Necklace. Later on we added the Magazine scarf again to Zoe’s It Girl look, tied classicly bohemian, across the forehead, knotted in the back.

Once the sun began to peak out a bit as the shoot continued, we did some mix and matching with these versatile pieces! We took Ambiance Appeal’s Fuschia Cardigan, tucked it into Ambiance Appeal’s black harem pant, creating a high waist coupled with Jeffrey Campbell’s Gidget. Evil Twin’s longhorn tee was paired with Vanessa Mooney’s Brown Leather medallion necklace, to name a few.

Puppy Love: Val & Cam Take the André Assous Pipoan for a Walk

It’s early June, the start of a three-month period of pure bliss otherwise known as summertime. The sun is beaming in the sky, begging you to come out and play. There is nothing better than a walk down the avenue to end your day. Though the sun will go down in a few hours, the fog hasn’t rolled in for once. It’s beautiful out.

Blue skies, sunshine, and two adorable puppies by your side—what more could you want? Maybe just the perfect shoes to help you celebrate the occasion? Lori’s Shoes asked us to edit an outfit for them, and we were lucky enough to be given the sweetest sandal wedges you could possibly imagine ... and in piping-hot red! These Andre Assous wedges are now a favorite go-to in our closets.

We styled them with Jodie Foster's character, "Iris" from the Taxi Driver, in mind—inspired by her cool '70s style, not her profession, of course. We mixed a gorgeous knit top from Anthropologie with a pair of Camilla's vintage denim shorts and our fab new red wedges for the perfect combination. Top it off with our favorite floppy hat and Iris was on her way to the beach.

Tricks of the Turban Trade

While rummaging through stacks of covered platforms, fringe-adorned gladiators and strappy, floral prints in preparation for our upcoming lookbook shoot, we had the oh-so-clever idea to take on the turban. Yes, I said it. TURBAN. Before you bash this divisive piece of headgear, hear me out.

The turban is a lot of look. If you can’t muster up the strength to tackle it full on, do it with a twist. You can "turban-ize" yourself in various ways: Classically tied, á la Eartha Kitt or just wing it, adding a bit of your own personal flavor.

When I’m feeling boho, I like it knotted in the middle, dubbed “Moroccan Girl” style by Geri of Because I’m Addicted, ends tucked. Or when my inner gypsy erupts, I like it folded in half, tied to the side or back, ends free. The girly girl in me is also very into the “scarf-bow,” created by knotting and shaping the ends into the form of a bow.

Textbook boho. When wearing a bold pattern such as this Tolani skirt, always pair with a simple tank in a complementing color. Go with a simple, neutral wedge to add height. (I love the Chirp by Seychelles; it is a gorgeous neutral wedge.) Add a belt in the same color family. Knot it. The tusk necklace in a similar tone makes perfect sense for this look.

NEON NEON

Funktional skirt + Jeffrey Campbell Gidget + neon orange top

With this neon orange top the options are endless. Throw on a vivid bandeau to add a touch of colorblocking. The sheer, layered skirt by Funktional in black—which is, hands down, a must-have for this season—neutralizes the acid hues and holds everything together ... even with the addition of the multi-colored Jeffrey Campbell Gidget.

ROUGH EDGES

I love a menswear button-down. Add a leather short and we’re in business. One final touch: boots. Boots with shorts make my heart sing; I’d do it every day of my life if I could. The necklace is one of my favorites—a great way to sneak in a bit of color. The girl that pulls of this look is boldly badass.

PRETTY IN HOT PINK

polka dot ruffle dress + hot pink cardi + Pasha by Dolce Vita

This one is for the more demure girls—the ladies that love strung pearls and other feminine frills. Polka dots have made a major comeback. Adding a solid color to a polka-dot print is a great way to break up that all-over, black and white pattern. Dolce Vita’s Pasha is just sublime with it. This sandal is one of my personal favorites. I love its silver, blocked mid-heel and chunky buckles. It strikes a balance between heavy hardware and a simple, bare front. This look manages to be both practical and on-trend.

TEA TIME

white dress + yellow belt + Sweet Lyn by Joan & David

We’ve raved before about our love of whites and brights. In this outfit we have combined the two for the best of both worlds. This dress is perfect for summer weddings ... or an impromptu afternoon party! Fun it up with the addition of a shockingly neon knotted belt. Keep it in check with a nude, chunky heel like the beautiful Sweet Lyn by Joan & David. Even though the Sweet Lyn is accented with reptile print, it fits right in thanks to its neutral tones.

Lulu by Dolce Vita + ruffle shorts + oatmeal top + purple stone necklace

The Dolce Vita Lulu in teal brightens up a neutral ensemble. I love the whimsy that BB Dakota’s lace trim shorts provide. These bottoms are a great staple to have. They can be paired with simple tops such as this Seasonal oatmeal tank coupled with a button-down shirt, or worked back to a casual tee with boots, wedges or flat gladiators.

Claire Drury, co-owner of the Peacock Boutique in Louisville, Kentucky, knows from hats. Every year in late April/early May, her Frankfort Avenue boutique is the epicenter of what can only be termed "Derby Madness"—a near-hysterical desire for hats, fascinators and other accessories that reaches fever pitch in the days before the famous Churchill Downs horse race.

Known for her curated selection of designers like Missoni, Barbara Bui, See by Chloe and Rachel Roy—not to mention hats by Phillip Treacy—what better authority to give advice on how to dress a hat this summer? We poised Ms. Drury a few questions on headwear dos and don'ts and, of course, where to score the best mint julep in town.

Lori's: Describe the weeks leading up to the Derby. What is life like in a boutique filled with hats, fascinators, an on-site designer and frantic customers?
Claire Drury: The three weeks leading up to Derby is the best time of the year at Peacock! Customers all have their own way of shopping Derby. Some do the hat first, some the dress. Either way, they all want a one-of-a-kind head piece. Custom pieces take anywhere from four to ten hours, so the in-house milliner gets booked early.

Do your customers collect Derby hats, or are they investment items that are worn year to year?
Derby is all about the hat. It's the only time of the year when women wear a hat, so our customers spend big bucks and time getting the perfect look together. Dresses come second. Unfortunately, most hats will only be worn one time to Derby by the original purchaser, but it is customary to lend a hat to a friend or out-of-town guest in following years. With so many photos being taken at the Derby, it would be a fashion faux pas to re-wear!

Is it against the fashion law to wear your hat or fascinator post-Derby? What about brunch? Weddings? Another track like Keeneland?
The new look of the fascinator is much easier to wear in the future to cocktail parties and Keeneland, mostly because they tend to can be more casual than a hat. With the popularity of headwear on the rise, I would expect to see women branching out more in the coming years, and start to give their hats a life after Derby.

During the summer months, what advice do you have for wearing sun hats or other headwear?
A swank fedora is always in season, and, while it makes a great statement, it also protects your skin from the sun. It's a win-win look. Headbands have come back into the fashion scene in a huge way in the last couple of years. Feathers, crystals, rope—anything with bling or texture goes!

Dos and don'ts when putting together an outfit that includes a hat?

DO keep it simple on the clothing. The hat will be the statement piece. You don't want too much going on. I prefer a solid dress for the ultimate chic look.
DON'T overdo it on the other accessories, and don’t be afraid to match. This is the time for matching purse, shoes and accessories.
Do remember: Less is more!

What is your current favorite look going into summer 2011?
My new favorite look is the nude shoe. It lengthens the leg, doesn’t distract from your outfit or hat, and looks stunning! (I have already bought at least four nude pumps and sandals this season if that tells you anything.)

Now for the really important questions: how do you make the perfect mint julep?
I've never actually made a mint julep ... YIKES!?!? They make a amazing one at Porcini, within walking distance of the Peacock (a trip we have made many times). I would also say Churchill Downs! They tend to be a little watered down at the track, but I've always had them that way in the tradition of going to the races. That's how I love them the most. :)

Dreaming Through a Cold Spring

Wedges are the perfect staple shoe. They are effortless to walk in and create a long, lean look for your legs. This particular pair of Exe 803 Wedges in Khaki (also in Beige) seems to match everything in my closet right now. From soft, patterned jumpers to full A-line skirts or a classic, worn jean, these wedges will be my best friend this summer!

I'm already dreaming of myself all bronzed (courtesy of Jergens self-tanner), strutting around Uptown on a Saturday afternoon sipping an iced latte in cut-off denim shorts, these wedges and a vintage tee. They'd also be perfect while hiding behind gold aviator shades on a rooftop enjoying happy hour festivities! Unfortunately, at the rate Minnesota is warming up, it looks like I'm going to have plenty of time to dream ...

Colorblocking is a game. It's your chance to mix and match otherwise ridiculous shades to create neon perfection! You can chose to go with articles of clothing that literally feature "blocked" color—garments sectioned into expanses of solid color—as seen below:

Or you can get creative and put together pieces of different solid colors to create a colorblocking effect, worn below by Camille Bell and seen below in Jill Sander and Max Mara’s Spring 2011 collections.

To pull off the colorblock look, keep these tips in mind:

More Than Three’s a Crowd
Stick with two or three colors. I prefer three; it is more interesting and creates more contrast.
Clash Away
Remember that "normal" rules don't apply to colorblocking. Pair colors that you normally avoid. Pinks and deep purples paired with orange; yellow and teal; magenta, orange and ultramarine together ... these are my favorite color combinations.
Family Ties
Feel free to contrast two tonally related hues—pink and purple—with a contrasting and jarring third, such as orange. It will be perfection!
Be Colorful and Proud
The point is to keep it vivid and bright—no dark tones.
Accessorize to a Bare Minimum
If accessorizes must be added, go simple and neutral. Make places for the eye to rest with neutral belts and bags in cream, grey, or tan. Do not attempt to integrate patterns. No. Not ever.

Shockingly Good: The Voltage Fashion Event in Minneapolis

Hosted at legendary First Avenue in the heart of Minneapolis, “Voltage: Fashion Amplified” is the final event of MNfashion Week. I was one of five stylists helping pull this over-the-top event together. Ten apparel designers and more than a dozen accessories designers dressed five live bands in addition to the runway looks—every one of us a Minnesota native.

I arrived at First Ave. just after 3 p.m. with several bags, boxes and my lovely styling assistant, Jeana, whom I met in college and who has an equal obsession for all things fashion. She also shares my perfectionist tendencies. I knew she was perfect for the job!

Before we knew it, our four hours of prepping and styling had vanished; the doors at First Avenue opened to the public. The noise out front grew quickly. I slipped out of my day clothes and into a monochromatic number with Jeffrey Campbell Litas just before the show started.

The designers I styled, Kathryn and Max, were, respectively, the first and last collections to walk down the runway. Just before the scheduled 8 p.m. start, I followed Kathryn and all twelve models downstairs to wait. It seemed like only moments before all of the models were taking their final turn with Kathryn, accessory designer TimmiLynn and myself following behind. The lights were bright and the crowd was roaring applause. I'm not even sure if I smiled. I just remember thinking don't fall, don't fall, don't fall, don't fall.

Around 8:30 p.m., I sat for the first time in, like, six hours! I may have been a little delirious—and completely beat—by the end of the night, but I had an absolute blast and couldn't have been more thrilled with the night. The show was amazing. Minnesota’s homegrown talent is limitless!

Nothing, according to us.

These shoes scream out attitude and we love it. A big plus is that they match almost everything in our wardrobe: party or coffee-hang, it's your call.

The average Lori's shopper usually wants one of two things ... or should I say one of both things: a shoe that can be dressed up and down, and an easy shoe—low maintenance and easy to accessorize. No bells and whistles, these woman want the "Everyday Shoe." Merging these demands into a single, ideal shoe is no easy feat.

Of course, the ideal varies.

Women in the office are looking for a sturdy practical heel for daily wear. These women love Calvin Klein’s Olive in either leather or patent or Franco Sarto’s Luxe in Dune, Black or Cognac. Vaneli is a must for women with narrow feet, who often have trouble finding pumps that fit well. Enter Undine, Dizzy, Urseline and Ulan. These styles are low or moderate in height, sturdy and feminine.

Then you have your brand enthusiasts. These trendy women follow a brand religiously, seeking out styles from a particular designer to build their collection. I cannot tell you how many women come in looking for the über-fierceness that is Jeffrey Campbell. JC women are looking for shock appeal—they want their shoes to pop. Comfort is not a necessity ... it's more of a plus.

Being a JC connoisseur, this is where I shine. (Hi, Lori’s women! Meet me, Ashley: adamant lover of all chunky, heeled things stacked on platform.) When I look for shoes I am concerned about getting height with minimal pain. Anything in boot/wedge/platform shapes sets my heart a-flutter.

Boots are still and will forever be my ideal heel. If you like the coverage and look of a boot, short boots are a great lead-in to summer. They look super cute when paired with girly patterned dress and skinnies. Vic Matie, Sam Edelman, Progretto and Via Spiga are always crowd pleasers in this category.

To keep it truly simple every day, go with the classic ballerina. It’s easy, it goes with anything from skinnies to dresses. The flat gladiator is a similar favorite as it adds a bit of oomph without causing a stir.

Wedges and chunky heels are no-brainers. They are this season's ideal shoe. Our star wedges have been Vaneli’s Dandy, Steve Madden’s Fantastik and Matisse’s Lovee for their uncanny resemblance to Stuart Weitzman’s rope design. For dressier occasions wedge and chunky heel lovers are always into a shoe with a platform such as the forever popular Irina by Pour la Victoire. Ah Finally!

This past weekend Camilla and I were able to get together again and shoot another post.
Inspired by a chiffon skirt from Free People and the most awesome pair of Jeffery Campbell wedges (the Be-Well in Ivory) we just received from Loris Shoes, we went to our favorite spot in the woods to shoot. The forecast said rain; it held off and left a wonderful cloudy morning for just the vibe we were hoping to achieve.

Right now we are loving the mixing-up of soft neutral colors, textures and layering, layering and layering! Long maxi skirts made of chiffon or light, airy fabrics are the must-haves for us this spring ... wearing them with wedges or a platform is even better. Topping it off with a pop of vibrant color like Camilla's red leather jacket makes the look complete.

Our turquoise jewelry, a Navajo-inspired backpack and a vintage denim shirt worked perfectly into the story, though I think we were both wishing we were actually roaming down real roads to some place else.

Maxi-mizing a Trip to the Beach

This shoot was so much fun! This look was styled with a vintage beach feel. (We shot at our local beach.) Camilla wears a maxi dress, Jeffrey Campbell San Diego platforms and the scarf as a turban. We added a crochet top over the dress and belted it along with lots of beads, rings and bracelets. We brought along some vintage surf boards as props. I really love this shoot. I hope you do too.

We styled this look with a young, fun vibe. We wanted to capture a flirty, girlie look with a twist. Camilla and I mixed a vintage boy's blazer and Marc Jacobs top over a striped skirt and pink pumps by Chinese Laundry. We shot the look at the boardwalk—it just captured that same feeling as the outfit.

We love the mix of colors. The fun hot pink patent pumps made us want to style the shoot with a colorful, playful vibe and the cute striped skirt with a little gold quilted bag, just felt very Cher from the movie Clueless but with a bit of Blair Waldorf of Gossip Girl as well.

It was a spring lookbook, so we decided the feeling needed even more color and a bit of real West Coast charm, and because of that, heading down to the Pier and Arcade seemed fittingly appropriate.

Bright, eye-popping, attention-grabbing hues are all the rage—there have been sightings from Paris to London to New York Fashion Weeks.

There’s nothing I love more than a vibrant shade of blue-violet (ultramarine, to be exact). My closet has been begging for a sister shoe in this exact shade in the form of a wedge platform pump for ages ... okay, for at least a season.

This is a classic example of how to pair a bold print with an even bolder shoe. Feel free to replace motorcycle jean legging with a dark skinny to keep it truly simple.

Things That Go Va-Va-Voom

Sexin’ it up with this look. Balancing out the sexy with feminine frills is key. I love a risqué top paired with a blazer or snug jacket. You can also switch out the motorcycle jean for a dark jean and still get the same effect, just taken down a notch.

The Rachel Zoe

Ba. Na. Nas. We nod to the queen of all things excessive. The black faux fur, the classic feminine bow on the top paired with the basic jean screams daytime lunch date. Find the most classic pieces you own, add the Gezana = instant.

Glitzy Geometrics

Words cannot express how much I love this look! Tribal, ethnic prints are dominating fashion. This high waist harem pant just does it for me! The addition of the simple white v-neck is to balance out the business of the pant and the wedges. This neutral knotted necklace is the cherry on top.

Casual Chic

This look is carefree and relaxed. Form fitting cargos are a must! The jacket and the pants will create shape, juxtaposed against the looseness of the striped top. The key here to select pieces that are typically not “dressy” enough to be worn with heels and then MAKE IT WORK.

This week’s update from the West Coast comes on the heels of some very exciting news for my husband and me. Without giving too much away, let’s say I am taking every opportunity to celebrate California style while I still can. And the only thing better than laid-back hippie chick style is laid-back hippie chick style on a budget! I am happy to report that, thanks to Lori’s, I can deliver both.

Let’s begin, shall we? Ahem:

Today I am feelin’ a Three’s Company vibe. Let's be honest: Janet had the mad style back then. (Sorry, Chrissie; the boob tees ain't my thang.)

The splashes of color on this amazing '70s-inspired classic make this dress a must for, well, as soon as you can wear it! If you aren’t ready to bear some arm (or the weather won’t allow), a jean jacket never, I repeat, never goes out of style. At a hundred and four bucks, you will get every ounce of wear out of this lovely throwback.

When it comes to bracelets, more is much, much more. I have never seen a heavily adorned wrist I didn’t like. As we slide into spring and start showing our wrists again, dress them up for the big reveal.

Do not be afraid of stacking silver and gold together (or similar off colors). This is one of my favorite trends of late!

This tassel necklace is a perfect compliment ... and $18? Come on! When you are a hippie chick, you are not afraid to over-accessorize. It's all about more!

Last year was heavy on the flats and maxi dresses. This year, pull out your platform sandals like these gorgeous weaved beauties by Vince Camuto for a sexy kick.

And last—but certainly not least—where would we be without the requisite shoulder bag? As much as you want to strap this 7CHI bag across your chest, I urge you to resist. You are way more hip with it slung casually off your shoulder.

Roman Holiday: Lori Packs for Italy

OK. It's really more like "Milano Holiday," but that just didn't have quite the same ring to it. Lori left for Milan for the fall buying shows. A Few of Ashley's Favorite Things: Wardrobe Must-Haves

I get a lot of questions from customers and friends about what key pieces that they need in their closet. How do you make sure that your wardrobe is fresh and nothing yells “Yo! Circa Fall 2010”?

Most of us do not have large amounts of disposable income. We cannot go out and buy every “it” item of the season. Rather, make a plan: when shopping decide on a few trends, capitalize and get creative. That fur scarf that you bought in the Fall can now be clipped to your favorite blazer or sweater for chilly, early spring days. The nude pump is still your everything, every season, go-to shoe.

Here is a list to round out your wardrobe staples ... affordably. These pieces are in-demand this season but have a life beyond any one season.

Tailored/Semi-Tailored Blazer
This item is an incredibly important transition piece from fall/winter to spring. In other words, it is a year-round staple. Wear it with a jean and oversized top in the colder months then transition it over a dress or pair it with a skinny jeans or cutoffs for the warmer months.

Motorcycle Jacket
Another core item that every girl should own. This is not your mother’s bulky-shouldered, fringe-adorned jacket, so go simple and chic. Olive or taupe are great color options! Moto jackets are awesome for spring and will add a pop of color during cooler seasons. (I personally love crinkled leather.) BB Dakota jacket available at Lori’s.

Leopard
Well, I see you got your brand new leopard-skin pill-box hat. Whether or not you love Dylan, heed his observation: this print has made a grand comeback! No longer synonymous with older, fusty looks, leopard is young and daring. No need to go overboard though—invest in a leopard scarf, a pump, accessories. I love dyed leopard in pinks or purples—a nice deviation from the standard black and brown print. In the words of Rachel Zoe, “have the courage to wear leopard.”

Polka-dots
This cutesy trend is huge for Spring/Summer 2011. These darling strappy sandals would look great with a white, slim-fitting dress or dark skinny jean and white top. The bright colors against the sheer black top? Love.

Pumps: Brightly Colored and Nude
I’m a huge fan of the brightly colored pump! My favorite shade is the deep ultramarine blue shown above ... adds instant sass to any outfit.

Faux Fur
Faux or real, it’s all right by me. This is one trend that you cannot overlook!

Prints: Geometric and Floral
Prints galore! Think "Three’s Company": these are the prints that you need to look for. Very retro. Floral. Go crazy—well, tastefully crazy. One Mrs. Ferley is enough.

Nautical
I cannot explain to you how much I love stripes! Keep in mind your body type and height. If you are smaller in stature like me not only are you obviously awesome, but you need to exercise caution. Go for horizontal stripes when possible. Otherwise, make sure to keep the stripes up high in the form of a top with a snug upper portion so as not to dress an unwanted bulky look.

Accessories
I live for accessories. Geometric shapes, classic pieces, tribal and bohemian influences are all the rage in jewelry. Keep a look out when browsing!

As always, the teardrop cut-out at the toes adds unique charm. Novato's towering height and sexy silhouette is a great way to dress up your new summer maxi dresses and skirts.

We love Jesslyn Blake's bags for their super-soft and eco-friendly, re-purposed leather. The Emma clutch is big enough to carry more than just your lipstick and credit card but still small enough to carry by hand. We especially love the contrasting sizes of the ball clasp closure—a quirky accent.

We love this statement necklace for its unique design, like it time-traveled to us from an ancient Mayan city. Hammered brass plates are joined by a brass chain adding to the antiqued look. Dress it up with a summer dress and your favorite wedges, or dress it down worn over a tank or cami.

Last decade brought out the Carrie Bradshaw shoe lover in all of us. We learned how easy "dolled-up" can be—moving from weekday rhinestones to a party outfit just by adding a pair of heels. Even though this isn't such a killer heel, the Bacchus is perfect for making your outfit breathe more spring!

When the springtime comes, match those shoes with bare legs, a nude dyed dress and some cute, white socks. For a cute vintage look you can match it with a old leather bag and big '70s glasses. (We certainly will!)

Jeffrey Campbell's Skate has arrived and we can't wait to be seen in it! Simple black leather wraps the foot with an open toe - but the real excitement is on the bottom. A whimsically carved heel sits within an open wooden base, adding the ice skate look.

The natural unfinished wood is right in tune with Spring, but we were thinking - how bad would it be to mark up that naked wood base with some color? Maybe some flowers, polka dots or zig zags? Give 'em the slip: Low-cost vintage finds are a foundation for winter-to-spring looks.

A trend that has taken the blog world by storm is the maxi skirt. From soft, translucent tulle to rich velvet, a maxi skirt is a staple in every girl's wardrobe this spring. My favorite version of the maxi is a long vintage slip skirt. I love the romantic drape of this semi-opaque, silky fabric. (Not to mention you can snag them super-cheap from local thrift stores. I purchased my skirt for under five dollars!)

When sourcing your own vintage maxi slip skirt here are some tips:

Look for slips with unique details like lace trim or long slits;
Classic colors like nude, black, gray or red will give your look sophistication.

An outfit option with a long maxi skirt (vintage or new) is wearing it as a strapless dress. Cinch it with a belt or two and accentuate your waist while giving the dress shape. Thinking outside the box with garments can completely transform your wardrobe possibilities and pull winter pieces into the spring season effortlessly.

These Dolce Vita Jade wedges are another staple to my spring wardrobe. What won me over with these adorable sandals was the extreme comfort, their ability to match everything in my closet and, most importantly, the long dangling tassel at the back of the heel. I'm a sucker for anything with tassels. I have no clue why. Maybe it's because I love classic pieces with unexpected little extras—like vintage slip, like Dolce Vita!

Tulle skirts bring out the little girl in all of us (do try to resist the urge to twirl and curtsy). Tulle conjures up images of pink ballerina slippers and, in general, being five years old—hence the sartorial conundrum: how do we look chic in our childhood clothes?

She is a classic example of the tulle skirt worn perfectly simple, coupled with a neutral top and strappy sandals. She wore no accessories.

The key to rocking the tulle skirt is balance. The skirt is your statement piece. It is the star of the show. Do not upstage it. Anything you add should serve to support the skirt.

Dress the tulle up based on your own personal style. Are you going for demure? Bad-ass? Menswear? Keep in mind that you can also settle on a ruffled or layered lace skirt for similar volume without the actual tulle.

Go with a nude, strappy sandal—minimalist and simple. A nude patent pump is another good choice. A pointy toe will balance the volume of the tulle. For a more classic look, top it off with a cardy or short blazer. On the other hand, black booties or moderate-height motorcycle boots are a way to add edge.

Add accessorizes with color based on the color of your shoes. When choosing your bag, keep it neutral with pinks and nudes. The edgier the look the more indulgent you can be.

This one is my absolute FAVE! I would wear this in a heartbeat. Black is my thing.
In this look the pink tulle provides a nice juxtaposition ... just so chic. What's not to love about this look??

Look 3: Hard-edged Tulle

Rock out! The addition of the JC boot is a nice alternative to black—it keeps the look light.

Sock It To Me!

There was an absolutely fierce debate on Intermix’s Facebook the other day: is it acceptable to wear tights with open toe shoes? The reply from the crowd was a resounding "Absolutely Not!"

There is nothing finer right now than mixing up sweet shoes and flirty socks. It’s absolutely fantastic to go against the grain and show off your personality with super-fun accessories. Therefore, I took some of my favorites at Lori's to Black + White Loft where one of my favorite photographers—good friend Jon Shaft (assisted by the fantastic Dana Loftus)—shot me in a few of my favorite combos.

White socks are sure to pop a colorful print shoe. More intricate prints will carry a simple pump. And sparkly socks are a perfect pairing with a neutral shoe for evening! So I say go forth in closed or open toes! Be fearless. Show off your hot socks while it’s still cold enough to do so (there are so many cute ones at Lori’s right now).

Who cares what anyone else thinks? If it keeps you warm and makes you smile, get mixed!

Ahoy, Sailor!

To say that the nautical/sailor trend is on this spring is not quite right—it never went off. Every spring I see a new tweak to and cool variations of this style. As soon as I received these Jeffrey Campbell Ping Pongs, I couldn't help myself ... I had to create my own version.

Anchor shirt, check. Sailor hat, check. Nautical wedges, CHECK! I just had to add a pretty blazer and my version was done. I thought red was a pretty obvious jacket choice, so I chose coral because it compliments these rad, wickery platforms. (You have to give it to Jeffrey Campbell when it comes to lovely shoe surprises.)

Now all I need is a yacht to chill in and a tank of Cuba Libres, and I am good to go! Anchors aweigh!

I have a fashion confession. You know the gladiator sandal craze that has monopolized the last two summers? Yeah, I hate them.

But just on me.

Whilst all of you hotties look like the Sartorialist is about to shoot you on the streets of New York, I simply look like my legs are half-sized.

Naturally I am ecstatic to see that loafers have made a grand resurgence! What with my Catholic School background, I have always had an affinity for loafer-like styles. You know—because I had no other choice.

Spring Bags (and some Fall Holdovers)

Aren't you tired of fashion's conventional wisdom?

Don't wear black with brown. No white after Labor Day. Stick to one texture. Your belt must match your shoes. Flannel is for lumberjacks.

These fashion "don'ts" are now the biggest DOs of the season!

When shopping for bags this spring remember that the old rules no longer apply. A lot of women pigeonhole themselves when looking for spring bags. Some think that their bag must be light colored, bright colored, no greys or browns. Says who? Yes, generally, as the seasons change the fashions do brighten up, but you can still integrate some of your favorite fall bags into your spring wardrobe.

Hemming and Fawning: Wearing the '70s Trend

It may be January, but spring trends are surfacing everywhere! My favorite spring style is heavily influenced by the seventies. And guess what?! Bell bottoms are back! It has been several years since I wriggled my way into flared jeans. I had become so accustomed to seeing my tapered ankle silhouette in the mirror that the wider shape seemed really awkward at first. Don't worry; you'll get back into your bell bottom groove by the end of the day!

Here are a couple tips when styling your bell bottoms:

If you are on the shorter side, look for a high-waisted cut and slightly smaller flare.
Avoid long tunic tops. They will make your look heavy and throw off your proportions.
Do strap on a pair of heels—especially a platform like the Litas—for a true seventies look
Experiment with different washes. Everything from pale blue to deep indigo will be on the stroll this spring!

April's Observations: Winter to Spring

1. The capsule collection for now
I was thinking about trends recently. Spring may be on the way, but Chicago is cold and windy. And icy. Snowy. And gray. Trends are all well and good, but what, I wondered, would be the best shoes for right now? The set above came to mind: Jeffrey Campbell stacked-heel penny loafers, black lace mini-wedge House of Harlows, killer Sorels and a new color of my favorite boot this season, the Vancouver.

A capsule set! The stack heels are for client meetings; the tennies are for of-the-second Factory inspiration; Sorels are for all the time (yes, you can be happy when it’s crappy); and a great pair of all-the-time, super sleek, platform laceup booties. Yes.

2. Spring/Summer 2011
Onward! SS11 is full of great surprises and a lot of help for those who hate heels: the platforms are all flats and the flats are outrageous (and so are all of the heels). Here’s a round up of some favorites
for the upcoming season:

3. Honor thy Sorel
Confession: as a little girl, I often found myself tromping around in the Northern Michigan snow. Getting a new pair of Sorels was, like, a heavenly moment. The whole process was a cool sensation: going to the old-time outfitter and dipping my arms up to the shoulders in fishermen's waders, then walking up the soggy old boards to the boot room. You could get a pink and white pair. A red pair. A blue and purple pair. Sorels were cool back then and I am so happy to say they are off the charts for this season of very wet, cold snow. Of course, you can always make a cute outfit based on them that’s bar appropriate.

This ultra-feminine, structured piece by Chloe is adorable!

Black is being shown on the runways for spring. In most cases, it is mixed with brighter colors, but Chanel goes classically dark.

This Chloe piece is probably my favorite. I love the beadwork and the chain!

This adorned clutch by Marchesa is absolutely adorable! Very originial. Perfection.

The neutral tote is here to stay! You can never go wrong with this type of bag. Every girl needs one! Alexander Wang.

Wang does it again, with this ah-mazing bag! I want. I think we all do.

Sneak-Peek: New Apparel Finds in New York

Lori and the buyers are busy in NYC scouting out new trends and styles for our spring lineup of clothing and accessories. Apparel, a new addition to our repertoire just last year, it growing bigger. A big trend we're buying this season is the drapey and diaphanous Greek goddess look—lots of wraps and gathers in tunic lengths, one-shoulder tops and silky rompers. The look is easy, yet effortlessly chic.

We temper our enthusiasm for the ancients with more structured, modern pieces like a wool-and-leather panel skirt, a cowled shift dress and, why not?, black leather hot pants. Vrooom!

Color blocking and sailor stripes are emergent looks for early spring. While we would normal run shrieking from horizontal stripes, we think these picks have a jaunty, fresh vibe that really luffs our sails.

Cut to the Paste: Our Fave Bag Maker

Lori and Nicole, our handbag buyer, are in New York on a buying trip. They ran into Shervyn, designer of Cut N Paste bags. This is a relatively new line for us. We became love slaves the instant we saw them. The quality is impeccable and the leather so buttery soft we'd slather it on toast if we could. Cut N Paste bags have that je ne sais quoi weight to them that is so satisfying. It comes from using quality leathers and hardware. We're super excited to see what comes in for spring!

The Latest Resort: Spring 2011

For many, ‘tis the season for planning winter cruises and destination trips. My, what to wear? Even if you are not traveling, plan to freshen up your wardrobe in preparation for spring. Take a cue from Diane von Furstenberg, Marc Jacobs, Dior and Scognamiglio and go fluorescently retro. The runways are alive with prints—gingham, nautical, feminine florals, pretty pastels and other decorated extras. The "return of the stewardess" has inspired clean lines and daring hems.

I love the colors here. Although some of these items may be a bit much for everyday wear (such as the Sander skirt), we can still glean a couple tips from these designers:

Show a little leg. The majority of these looks are above the knee, so go tastefully short.
Color is your new BFF. If neon is not your thing, stick to shades that appeal to you ... but lighten up! If hot pink is a bit much, opt for a softer baby blue or green. Mix a vibrant color with a jean or dark bottom to balance your palette. And don’t be afraid of the colored slinky shoe!

DVF is everything that I love about fashion. Her designs are wearable and invigorating. Her use of print is notoriously awesome. Take a gander at my favorite looks from her Resort 2011 collection:

Platforms From sandals to boots, they are here to stay and we love it. What other shoe offers a 4.5" heel with a one-to-two-inch platform, turning you into a six-foot supermodel without the foot pain? Platforms were made for walking, dancing, standing, sitting and wherever else your creative mind takes you.

Frye Bridget Ornament

Wedges Espadrilles, corkscrew, wooden and artistically designed. Our most fave spring/summer pick of the year.

Franco Sarto Rugby

Lace-up/Oxfords The boyfriend look remains popular. From the boyfriend jeans and sexy button downs, to three-piece suits and fedoras. Obviously not the shoe for every maven, but a winner for those who did.

Calvin Klein Sallie

Open-toe Boots Any shoe maven with a serious fetish did not miss out on a pair of these show-stoppers. Their half-size counterparts—booties—are a great transitional shoe from fall to winter and spring into summer. These shoes are an investment piece. You will get your fashion value in the long run.

Worst Trends

UGG Australia sheepskin boot

UGGs Always a bone of contention, the UGG. Slang for sheepskin boot or "ugly" (so says the company literature). This boot is so ugly/adorable it has polarized its way into one of the most popular shoes ever—on good and bad lists alike! UGG Australia is definitely having the last laugh with this one. Have you nay-sayers stepped in a pair of these cloud nine delights? You will swoon and soon be a UGG owner yourself. Trust!

Kitten heels We invoke our right to agree to disagree. We love these Audrey Hepburn, '50s, classic chic by Charles David. But, hey, we're just the messenger.

Hybrid sandals Not the most flattering of sandals this past spring, unless you are over 5'9". Hybrids were such a new trend that the fashion police quite busy with many a fashion faux-pas. Wonder if we will be a little more prepared next season should this complex look reappear?

I am the Storm, I am the Wonder

Meet Mira and Thilda Berglind: sisters, soul mates and, now, colleagues. From the town of Nyköping about an hour south-west of Stockholm (also known as the middle of nowhere), these twin visionaries spend their days taking pictures, drinking wine and dancing to the wee hours for their blog 365days on Swedish network Devote.

The siblings are influenced by fashion, but their goal is "to be inspired by the cool atmosphere around us and mix it with clothes we think match ... our goal is to inspire people."

Judging from their work the middle of nowhere is a pretty inspiring place. They caught our eye with their fresh photography, rich settings and confident, searching style. We were gratified to see that coming out of small-town Scandinavia as opposed to, say, Paris or New York. God bless the Internet and digital media.

Giving them free rein over our catalog, they donned the Jeffrey Campbell Penny Lane and ran wild. The result is some great looks with a superb shoe ... and the first post by our newest guest bloggers.

We adore a lot of shoe designers, but Jeffrey Campbell tops the list for a number of reasons. The design of the Penny Lane stands out from the crowd. It was love at first sight. The Penny Lane is stylish, but discreet. We chose a rather neutral outfit (our dad's Hugo Boss shirt and vintage shorts) to match these shoes. We wanted something cavalier and not so "stylish." The bathroom had a clean, fresh retro look to match. Both outfits are nice, simple and not to up-dressed: everyday outfits. We'll wear these shoes in our old "crow castle," drinking wine and listening to Röyksopp at top volume!

We kind of melt at the thought of walking in these shoes down the streets of Stockholm when the weather becomes a little bit warmer. When the cherry trees bloom we will wear those with some short-cut vintage shorts and maybe a cream-colored blazer. And as an extra plus, the Penny Lane is ridiculously comfortable, so, talking from experience, it won't be necessarily to wear flats to feel comfy when you have been dancing all night.

Winter Whites!

It’s that time of the year when we’re all feeling a little S.A.D. (I for one am already dreaming about spring.) Speaking of sad, when you take stock of your winter shoe collection, my bet is that yours consists, primarily, of black ... or dark brown. Am I right?

Right.

Bring some lightness to your shoes and spirits with the Mary Lou by Jeffrey Campbell, a winter white leather wedge with geek-chic tassel detail and a 4.5” heel

This shoe is an online exclusive like its cousin, the Mary-Roks. You might think it takes an especially adventurous personality to take these puppies home, but they are surprisingly easy to mix in. They go exceedingly well with the après-ski sweaters I live in this time of year, making me look always ready for a little hot tod—, I mean, chocolate. Hot chocolate.

Another thing to love about this shoe? It will get worn to death when the weather turns warmer. This shoe screams '70s—the trend that is top of the heap for spring. It works just as well with a pair of jeans, a sweater and some cozy socks as it does with vintage disco dresses and crazy taffeta coats, as evidenced below.

I love getting some serious bang for my buck, so I’m bullish on the Mary Lou and recommend buying now, wearing now, and dancing S.A.D.-free into 2011.

Holiday Dress Up

'Tis the season for pretty holiday dresses! Despite the crazy holiday madness the comes with this time of year, I absolutely adore the holidays because I get to doll myself up in extra-girly, sparkly dresses. You can replicate my lacy black ensemble for your holiday season with four key pieces...

1. LBLD ~ A Little Black Lacy Dress is a girly twist on a classic piece. For my LBLD, I layered a basic satin tank dress over a black lacy button-up blouse.

2. Nude Pump ~ If you don't already own a pair of nude pumps, you must save your pennies and treat yourself for Christmas. I am a mere five feet tall; nude heels are my best friend. They will give your legs a long, lean and sexy look for the holidays.

3. Embellished Clutch ~ A little clutch, just small enough to fit your night-out essentials is the perfect way to add a glimmer and glitz to your look.

4. Black Lacy Tights ~ Leave those opaque black leggings in your delicates draw this season. Instead style some girly edginess with black lacy tights. Keep your look monochromatic to avoid looking like a burlesque ensemble dancer.

The Little Black (Holiday) Dress

The “Little Black Dress” is tailored, chic sophistication—its hue and simplicity no doubt contributing to its longstanding popularity. Invented in 1926 in Paris by fashion maven Coco Chanel, this dress never seems dated, regardless of the year. The L.B.D. reinvented the way women wore black, becoming a permanent staple in cocktail and evening wear. The L.B.D. was often paired with one or two strands of pearls, simple black pumps and matching pearl or diamond earrings. Think Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s (her dress was Givenchy). It holds a special place in the closets and hearts of many women.

The holidays are upon us! Whether the parties are work-related or involve family and friends, we want to look our very best. Since dress code varies from one holiday event to another, it makes sense to pick a L.B.D. that is more timeless. If you stick to the book, wear the L.B.D. classically: sleeveless, knee length with a high scoop neck. Rely on your shoes and accessories to update your look from one event to another.

Sometimes I draw from the idea of the L.B.D. while adding an edge for a look that is a bit more exciting. I personally love the L.B.D. with a lace overlay, opaque black tights and black pump or bootie. (I simply love black.) Puffed, single-sleeve dresses are all the rage right now (as are sequined dresses). If your holiday party is laid-back, consider these as options. Keep in mind that you can also mix and match textures and couple your L.B.D. with edgier shoes and accessorizes!

One Size Fits All: The Satchel

If you are a full-time mommy, a hobby blogger and a part-time sales assistant like me, your everyday dilemma must be this: how to fit all these gadgets, this baby stuff and miscellaneous paraphernalia into one bag?

LADIES! Allow me introduce you to the SATCHEL BAG! It is my ever-loyal daily companion. The moment I carried this style, I never considered another. (Though I did find plenty of satchel styles to satisfy my needs ... )

I love to call them "doctor bags." I don't know why—maybe it's because I saw my doctor carrying such a bag one day. I couldn't resist asking him where he got it! I mean, if you have to fit diapers, wet wipes, a laptop, makeup, camera and god knows what else into a clutch, GOOD LUCK. You will probably need medical attention yourself (unless your clutch is the size of my satchel which seems unlikely).

A Glamorous Winter's Tale

With the holidays upon us, everyone is planning, shopping and partying. Attending a holiday party means you get to dress up—maybe buy something new—but your main goal is to turn heads when you enter the room.

All eyes are on you as you make your entrance. Your hair is effortless in tousled curls, your lips red as a rose, skin white as snow. A fur coat is draped casually across your shoulders to keep you warm from the brisk winter air. Your long, lace dress is a shining gem. It looks as if you hand-picked it from Carole Lombard's closet. Gliding up to the nearest good-looking man, you flip your hair and in a low voice murmur, "Hello, handsome."

For you the holiday party is just another night on the town.

Inspired by the sultry, glamorous looks from leading ladies of the '30s like Garbo, Lombard and Deitrich, off into the woods we went to transplant their style onto Nature's stage, to find our own modern-day Perdita.

We styled this shoot with a lace dress from Free People. Underneath we layered a gold sequin slip for more glitter. We topped it off with a vintage, fake fur cape and added lots of rings and necklaces. We curled Camilla's hair into long waves and, of course, applied deep red lipstick. For shoes, (although you don't see them) we used Jeffrey Campbell's black Tick booties to keep some contemporary style and not get too retro.

Kristin Cavallari of The Hills stepped out at the premier of Burlesque (starring Cher and Christina Aguilera) on November 15th in a stunning emerald, rhinestone-encrusted ruched mini by Zuhair Murad. Playing a supporting role (and supporting some top-model legs) was our star Novato slingback platform in blush patent. We absolutely love this look.

Lessons from the Silver Screen: Dressing Dolce Vita’s “Pippa”

Whenever I see fur I think of Old Hollywood glamour. Marilyn Monroe. Zsa Zsa Gabor. Audrey Hepburn. Elizabeth Taylor. Rita Hayworth. Grace Kelly. This is the era of less as more, when diamonds were a girl’s best friend ... But I digress. Most notably it was a time when fur became timeless. It never goes out of style!

Cue Dolce Vita’s Pippa. This rabbit fur wedge boot is just ah-mazing. Initially, I was attracted to its equally fab stiletto counterpart, the Tatum, but a sturdy stacked wedge wins me over every time! Not to mention the Pippa is taller. The more fur the better.

Before I could even get the Pippa into my grubby little hands, I was a-buzz with legging options. Should I pair it with a black patterned tight? What about grey? I just knew that NUDE anything would be just awesome; the Pippa worn bare-legged (especially with warm skin tones) will be absolute perfection.

I’ve found that with fur you don’t have to pair it only with colors that are prominent within the legging's print. You can throw on complimentary colors. I had a girl try on the Pippa and it look great paired with her black jeggings, deep purple over-the-knee lightweight socks and multi-colored chunky knit sweater. I loved her layered look ... and her fringe bag didn’t hurt either! The pairing of the unexpected adds a bit of oomph to the entire look and tones down the boot for a wearable daytime look.

Holiday Dressing

Like it or not, holiday events are upon us. Fine. However I was not prepared for New Year's Eve party invites in my Inbox prior to Thanksgiving.

Now that I have collected myself, the switch has been flipped. I am on the hunt for the perfect attire for NYE (or the zillion events leading up to zero hour).

BB Dakota black lace dress a la Buffy the Vampire Slayer

If there is a style that I will never tire of, it is super feminine mixed with punk rock, a.k.a., prom queen meets teen angst. So it only makes sense that when I saw this insanely perfect LBD (in a Breakfast at Tiffany's sort of way) I immediately searched for a pair of boots to temper the "perfection" with a little bit of my favorite emotion: pissed.

Ding Ding Ding!! These exclusive-to-Lori's Via Roma black butt-kickers plus aforementioned dress are the perfect way to say "I am a lady ... but watch out". I have to be honest. Being the L.A. girl that I now am, I will probably shorten the dress to show some gams. "Watch out" indeed!

Add in this statement ring and this cuff (I will be placing it above the elbow) and you have a holiday event(s) to look forward to.

Pick a Trend, Make it Work

The flood of emerging trends can be overwhelming, especially if you are one to stick to what you know. Fur, suedes, hardware, lace-up boots, sequins and over-the-knee boots are just some of the recurring looks of the season. But the fun thing about fashion is experimentation. You can step a little bit out of your comfort zone while staying true to your own unique preferences.

Not into the boy-meets-girl/menswear-inspired/rebel rocker look? Boho doesn’t do it for you? Unwilling to venture into thigh-high territory? You don't have to own a trend; try to incorporate at least one trend-inspired item into your daily wardrobe. Take it slow and focus on one thing. Commit to finding ways to make that one item work with what you already have in your closet.

Some women, I’ve noticed, seem to be wary of leggings and feel that they are not flattering. If you truly feel uncomfortable in leggings, go for jeggings. They provide more support and the mock demin provides a slimming look, similar to jeans, while the narrow fit is perfect for tucking into boots! I personally love them with a tall boot. Occasionally I'll pair my leggings with an ankle boot like Blowfish’s Willis. You can make this look unorthodox by pairing the unexpected, such as sequin leggings with the Sam Edelman Novato.

GIRL ABOUT TOWN
This look is typical girls’ night out attire! The suede platform Novato slingback is a great way to bring classic style. I love the opening in the front—very retro. In my book, wearing sequined leggings with a boot is a no-no. I feel like you make more of a splash if you don’t distract from the legging. My decision to add a simple crossbody was deliberate; I did not want to add another busy element to the outfit. I love how the blazer “mans up" the look while a bustier keeps it feminine and playful.

Finding a celebrity or public figure to inspire your wardrobe can also be helpful. If you love the classic look of the first lady, fur would be a faux pas, but you can rock a tall boot as she does below. She is the perfect example of a woman who has a distinct style yet incorporates current items into her established look. What I like most about her style is that it appeals to women of various age groups; her style is sophisticated, but current.

LACE-UP LOVE

This look is easily my favorite for everyday wear. I love wearing all black! I see it as a blank palette of sorts; it permits you to add colors and items without bordering on excessive. Speaking of excessive, I am absolutely in love with the Nila bag—it’s right on trend at a great price! Shades of olive are everywhere—as is fur—and I love the interesting pop juxtaposed against black. If you have legs for days, Edelman’s Dixie is just perfection paired with a black legging.

FUR INFATUATION
This look appeals to my boho obsession. The flowy tunic is simple and muted, which is needed since the Tatum is so wonderfully dominant. I have a longstanding love affair with pattern tights. They make me very happy. I included this particular grey tight in keeping with the idea of neutral colors. To me, greys, blacks, whites and tans are non-interfering colors. The final addition of the La Vie necklace just makes perfect sense.

ROCKER CHIC
Edelman’s Zamara is just ridiculous. The girl that wears this boot is absolutely fearless! These über-tall boots put me in a rocker state of mind. They are just asking to be paired with short denim cutoffs and tights. This look is a bit over-indulgent, but hey, that’s the rocker lifestyle.
