THIS JUST IN AT LORI'S: Charles David tote

Sometimes a girl just needs a little more room. You know, to carry all her stuff.

Lori's understands this and we're right there with you. That's why we're excited about the arrival of Charles David's braided handle tote.

It's big; it's lush; it's rich. And it takes where we need to go (in style, of course!).

With a strong rectangular shape, the tote acts as a chic office-gym-errands accessory, or as the perfect travel carry-all.

Right now we're pairing the camel colored version with Vaneli's patent wedge in beige, paying homage to an emerging trend towards a head to toe neutral look.

LORI'S TOP TEN: Colorful Flats (No. 1)

We're No. 1!

For three weeks now, Lori's has been counting down our Top Ten Trends for spring. And finally it’s time to announce No. 1...

Colorful flats

Flats in kaleidoscope of hues are leaving their mark on Lori's (not to mention fashion magazines and style divas, too). And we love it!

Our chromatic flats are fun; sassy; smart and bold. And they're Lori's No. 1.

Our favorites:

Thanks for counting down with us!

LORI'S TOP TEN: Pretty Toes (No. 2)

Toe embellishments are dipping their... well, toe... in at No. 2 on Lori's Top Ten Trends List.

From broaches to buckles, bows and rhinestones shoes with prettily embellished toes have a strong presence this spring (We like to think of them as shoes with pedicures!). And in addition to adding style, shoes with a little something extra at the toe make outfits appear polished and complete when accessorized correctly.

Notable No. 2s include:

Calvin Klein's Patrice flat
Jeffrey Campbell's Fleur flat
Poetic License's Checkmate flat
Migliorini's 1377 pump
Graffiti's 1921 pump

No. 1 (drum roll, please!) is revealed on Wednesday...

LORI'S TOP TEN: Height (No. 3)

Stiletto, wedge or funnel, fashion invites you to reach new heights this spring. That's right, shoes with ultra high heels have landed at No. 3 on Lori's Top Ten.

But like other trends on our spring style scroll, not just any tall heel will do. Lori's is having fun with our skyscraping shoes, selecting shoes with attitude and chic appeal.

One of our favorite lofty pumps is the newly arrived Cindy slingback from Deer Stags. Its corked stiletto tops out at 4.5 inches and it's covered in funky yellow patent. Now that's style!

On the wedge side of the sky-high shoe isle is the Dionne, also by Deer Stags. Its heel is 4.75 inches high (oh deer!) and sports a cheeky denim upper.

No. 2 will be who? Find out Monday...

LORI'S TOP TEN: Metallics (No. 4)

Metallic accessories are a staple of nearly every fashion season. They're classic and sexy, and can make any outfit look rich.

But the exceptional thing about metallics this season – something Lori's always loves – is metallics in 2007 are not to be used in moderation. Feel fashion free to wear metallic pumps or flats with an equally shiny bag, clutch or even dress.

We recommend, however, mixing and matching the textures of your metallics.

If your shoes are smooth and shiny, choose a cracked or woven leather bag. Or, mix a strappy metallic pumps with a sequin evening clutch. Then, each piece will retain its uniqueness.

See who makes the top three Wednesday...

LORI'S TOP TEN: Wedges (No. 5)

In the office, on the town, or at the beach, wedges are one of this season's hottest silhouettes. And we think each shoe’s unique style is a reflection of the wedges' wonderful fashion versatility.

Of course, Lori's has them all!

We've got denim wedges; patent wedges; styles with platforms or ultra high heels; corked wedges; comfortable wedges; whimsical designs; classic creations; and European wedges (oh my!).

Whatever form they come in, Lori's likes these full-soled shoes because they offer ongoing comfort and support, making them a stylish alternative to traditional heels and we've found plenty of ways to wear them this spring:
  • We're pairing Franco Sarto's sleek Jive with trouser shorts and a cute blouse
  • We'll match Sam Edelman's patent Dixie with a black mini dress
  • And we're looking forward to wearing Natural Comfort's colorful, cushy, corked SW5 wedge with cropped denim and short shorts

No. 4 shines Monday...

LORI'S TOP TEN: Nautical themes (No. 6)

Navigating to the six spot on Lori's trend list are nautical accessories.

Through your fashion looking glass you can identify these see-worthy pieces by a few common details: the use of navy, red or white, stripes, anchors, buttons, canvas, and rope accents.

The trend may be one of the quieter ones of the season, but we like it because it's a look that goes hand-in-hand with warm weather and spring. Plus, whether youthful, sophisticated, casual or elegant, nautical looks can be wonderfully versatile and a lot of fun (see MIA's Venice pump pictured left)!

Now, throw down the anchors and throw on your best navy gear... No. 5 comes on board Wednesday.

LORI'S TOP TEN: Covered Platforms (No. 7)

They were on the edge of our fashion radar in the fall and have gained tremendous momentum ever since. They require a keen, fashion-forward eye. And they make legs look killer.

We're talking platforms... covered platforms, that is!

Covered platforms add height, as well as a touch of mod and a bit of flare to more traditional skirts and trousers. Lori' loves them, too, because they pay homage to a great style of the past, while still maintaining an ultra modern look.

Check out some of our newest and most favorite platforms from Graffiti and Boutique 58.

No. 6 on the list drops Friday...

LORI'S TOP TEN: Big Stones (No. 8)

So you're ready to break free from your boots, and even more ready to climb out of your fashion rut. How to do it? How to make a swank spring statement?

With big stones (and we mean big, we're making a statement here!).

Whether on your feet, dangling from your ears or hanging around your neck, oversized stones, even faux ones, are a white hot accessory this season (See: 2007 Oscars).

Some of our favorite rhinestone pieces are found right now on Grecian sandals, like the smokey quartz stones on Unisa's affordable Marilyn.

One great thing about the trend is the number of ways to show the light-catching accessories off:

Going to work? Work stone-embellished flats with your croc embossed bag. Going on vacation? Wear gem decorated sandals with a floaty dress. Out on the town? Try layering multiple big-stoned pieces.

The stones will set your fashion free!

No. 7 on Lori's List is right around the corner...
