LORI'S TOP TEN: Polka Dots (No. 9)

One of the reasons we love this spring's trends so much is that style is back (baby!).

Gone are oft drabby tweeds and no-fun neutrals; in are adventurous colors, opulent materials and whimsical patterns like no. 9 on our list... polka dots!

Polka dots are cheery, youthful and this season, chic. But we're not talking about the girlish dots in your 5th grade class picture, either. Like you, dots have grown up (at least on the outside!).

Sophisticated labels such as Steve Madden, Sam Edelman and Via Spiga have taken white on black dots and spruced them up with adult details like satin fabric or sexy splashes of red.

In particular, Lori's likes: Madden's Richh pumps, Edelman's Indigo wedge and Via Spia's funky d'Orsay, the Cove.

Here's to getting your dots on!

No. 8 will be introduced Friday...

LORI'S TOP TEN: Patent (No. 10)

The shoes and accessories are here... wish the weather was!

We have tons of fabulous springtime wedges, flats and sandals, but we'll have to wait a few more weeks to show them off.

To pass the time, Lori's is counting down!

From 10 to 1, we have for you, Spring’s Top Ten Must Haves (aren't Top Ten lists fun?!)...

10. Patent
We said it last season and we'll say it again, patent is hot! In the fall, however, we were touting black, red, grey and white leathers. This season is all about colors, either primaries (red, blue, yellow) or pastels (turquoise, soft yellows, light blues and pinks).

On your feet or under your arm, colorful patents add a juicy splash to any outfit. We're suggesting you try the matchy-matchy thing; coordinating your shoes and bag, or wearing a dress and pumps of the same patent hue.

Stay tuned for No. 9...

STYLE WATCH: Poetic License Sizzlin'

Perhaps you were flipping through your recent edition of Lucky magazine (March '07) and a poppin' pair of Poetic License pumps caught your eye. Well, they certainly grabbed Lori's attention... we had to have them!

The Sizzlin' is a fun shoe in emerald green leather with mint trim. A little bit of extra pizzaz was added with a short, green snakeskin platform. And there's a Spring-y stacked wood heel to boot.

This season is all about playing around with color and patterns, so there's lots of ways to wear your green pumps. Pair them with traditional black trousers for just a punch of color or, be daring and try them with a bright, floral printed skirt (just make sure you have a neutral on top!).

Poetic License took a risk; it paid off; and we love it. Now, we say, it's your turn!

TREND WATCH: Our Friends

Our friend Sam Edelman is already proving to be one of the hottest names on the spring fashion scene. He's using wonderful color and materials this season, and when combined with innovative shapes we can't help but say, “Wow!”

Sam's fab flats in particular are generating plenty of buzz. His styles have been featured recently in several mags, including InStyle and Marie Claire. Lori's is partial to the Carrie and Charlotte (and not just because they're named after two of our favorite fashion characters!), two savvy chic beauties.

But Sam isn't our only friend basking in the warmth of spring style. Check out the trend-setting work of all our friends!

THIS WEEK'S HOT LIST: Juicy's Melody

This week's hot list features Juicy Couture's Melody, a darling high fashion ballet with metallic leather in a quilted texture. So simple; so stylish; and so sweetly swank, we're proud to call it one of our own!

Melody comes in silver and gold. It sets itself apart with a tie-it-yourself leather lace and a delicate fit. She looks and feels light on your feet, but the shoe also features a knobbed rubber sole so it can stand up to our Chicago streets.

We wear ours on Saturday shopping strolls, perhaps pairing it drawstring cargos (you know, for that athletic yet flirty balance) or some cropped dark denim. Throw in a tunic T and long necklace... how cute are we?!

THIS JUST IN AT LORI'S: More Via Spiga

For months now Lori's ladies have been falling in love with Via Spiga shoes. First, there was the delectable Neda in black patent and leopard calf hair. Next came the Drama peep toe, a true urban knock-out.

Well just recently we received the labels next big It.

The Cove is that rare combination of sophistication and spunk. Its crisp black and white or black and camel color combos speak to classic beauty, while the polka dots and patent trim say, "I have great style and I'm not afraid to show it!"

We match ours with a number of looks, from wide cuffed trousers and knee-length shorts to cropped denin or a sleek mini dress. Which ever way we choose to wear the pretty peep toes, we're proud to wear our Via Spigas for their excellent fit and cloud-like comfort.

How will you wear yours?!

STYLE WATCH: Positivity Bracelet

It's not often in fashion that two wrongs make a right, but for the Positivity bracelet, we’ll make an exception!

The Positivity bracelet is little red silk cord wrist wrapper with big meaning. Here's how it works: The red color of the bracelet symbolizes negativity, wear it on your negative hand to create a negative + negative = positive aura.

The message is creating a lot of buzz and has caught on in both East and West coast fashion hubs. We've also noticed the Positivity bracelets wrapping the wrists of celebrities on the pages of People or Us Weekly, as well as during TV shows and interviews.

But more than the hype, Lori's is embracing the positive vibe for us and our pals. And with Valentines Day approaching, we think the Positivity bracelets serve as a great gift to show our girl friends we’re thinking about them.
